5th Finance and Productivity Conference (FINPRO5)

Theme: Corporate Finance and Productivity in Times of Geopolitical Fragmentation
Date: 24–25 April 2026 | Venue: University of Tokyo, Japan

We are pleased to announce the 5th Finance and Productivity Conference (FINPRO5), jointly organized by the IMF, CARF (University of Tokyo), CompNet, IWH, EBRD, EIB, the University of Amsterdam, and CEPR.

This year’s event will explore how firms navigate geopolitical fragmentation, fiscal and financial constraints, supply chain disruptions, and climate-related pressures—and how these forces shape their capacity to invest, innovate, and sustain productivity.

The conference will bring together academics, policymakers, and financial institutions to discuss firm-level responses, innovative financing mechanisms, and strategies to foster resilience and long-term growth.

Key topics include:

  • Impacts of geopolitical and external shocks on firm performance and productivity
  • Financing and fiscal constraints shaping investment and capital allocation
  • Innovative financial instruments and policy frameworks for resilience
  • Adaptation strategies for managing supply-chain and environmental risks

We welcome both empirical and theoretical contributions. The submission deadline is 30 November 2025 (6 pm GMT). Selected authors will be notified by 20 December 2025.

Keynote Speaker: Ayan Kose (The World Bank) (TBC)

A limited number of travel grants are available, with priority for young researchers.

Submit your paper here. Deadline is 30 November 2025.
