Drexel LeBow’s PhD in Finance provides students with a collaborative environment and mentoring from leading scholars who regularly publish in top-tier finance journals. We offer frequent seminars and conferences as well as access to numerous data sets, including nonpublic microdata because of our designation as a Federal Statistical Research Data Center.
Our program has a consistent record of placing graduates in research-active finance groups with low teaching loads. Recent placements include Auburn University, Indiana University, Miami University, University of Arkansas, University of Mississippi, and Villanova University.
Admitted students receive comprehensive financial support for five years including tuition and fees, health insurance, and an annual stipend. Additional funding is available to purchase data, participate in conferences, and conduct other research activities. Students have access to permanent office space, their own PC as well as Drexel's supercomputing facilities, and plenty of free coffee and snacks.
Drexel LeBow’s PhD in Finance transforms curious students into inspiring teachers and outstanding scholars. Our program, with its rigorous training in quantitative research methods and financial theory, leads to research spanning from corporate finance to behavioral finance, fintech innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Our University City Campus is in Philadelphia, a city known for its diversity, lively business and restaurant scenes, and cultural and sporting attractions. In addition to our own collection of research events, our proximity to other universities, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and many financial firms affords many opportunities to interact with leading practitioners and researchers.
