Student’s fees for university master’s degrees are decreed on an annual basis by the Catalan government and Universitat de Barcelona. Please find below the public fees that correspond to the academic year 2026-2027
- 1,162.20 euros (60 credits | 19,37 euros/credit) for national students from EU member states, from countries that are members of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein), or from Switzerland, Andorra, and China; or students holding a residence permit in Spain (permit type: Residence). This exemption does not apply to students who hold a temporary residence permit in Spain for study purposes.
- 4,920 euros (60 credits | 82 euros/credit) for foreign students who are not nationals of EU member states, of countries that are members of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein) or of Switzerland, Andorra, and China; or students who hold a residence permit in Spain for studies.

Overview of the Course
The MSc in Economics is intended to equip students with the tools needed by a professional economist to conduct economic research and analysis.
In the 1st and 2nd terms, students attend the compulsory courses (40 credits) to acquire a solid foundation in economics and quantitative techniques.
In the 3rd, 4th and 5th terms, students have to choose two options from the list below according to their elective courses choice (60 credits), enabling them to specialise in areas of interest for their future profession or research:
- Public Economics
- Regional and Urban Economics
- Growth and Trade
- Government and Markets
- Games, Behaviour and Incentives
At the end of the course, in the 6th term, students must plan and write the Master thesis (20 credits), employing the concepts and methods acquired during the course.
