UniCredit Foundation announces the launch of the 13th edition of the Economic Job Market Best Paper Award, promoted in collaboration with the European Economic Association.

The Award aims to promote excellence in economic research by recognising outstanding Job Market papers and enhancing the visibility of the most talented young economists as they enter the international academic job market, in line with UniCredit Foundation’s mission to invest in talent and support the next generation of researchers.
Award Details
UniCredit Foundation will award 5 prizes of €1,000 gross each. The Award is granted directly to individual candidates, irrespective of their nationality or the university at which they are enrolled.
Preference is given to single-authored papers demonstrating high levels of originality and publication potential.

Eligibility
Applicants must be PhD candidates or PhD graduates that will participate to the European Job Market for Economists 2026.
Yes. Registration for the European Job Market for Economists 2026 is a mandatory eligibility requirement. Applicants must provide evidence of participation, such as a confirmation email or a screenshot of the relevant registration or participation webpage.
Yes. Both PhD candidates and recent PhD graduates who are participating in the EJM 2026 may apply.
Yes. Eligibility is not restricted by geographic location or university nationality, provided the applicant is participating in the European Job Market for Economists 2026.
