Paper submission and topics
Submissions (full paper, in PDF format) in all fields of Economics are welcome and should be made through Conference Maker, at:
Deadline for submissions is March 15, 2020. Papers should be written in English.
Papers will be selected by a Scientific Committee who will notify authors of their decision by April 20, 2020, at the latest.
The Consultaccount Award will be awarded to the best paper presented by a PhD student. The award consists of a certificate and a pecuniary prize in the amount of €750.
All students currently enrolled in a PhD programme are eligible for this award. Candidates should clearly mention they are applying to the award on the cover page of their manuscript when submitting it to the conference. The Scientific Committee of the conference will select the winner, who will be presented with the award at the final plenary session of the conference.
The conference dinner will take place on Friday, 3rd July 2020, in an iconic location in Porto.
In addition, conference participants organize an informal just-for-fun five/seven-a-side mixed-teams football match - the PEJ Cup - between the ‘Macro’ and the ‘Micro’ teams (where the definition of both Macro and Micro is sufficiently broad to allow anyone interested to play). The 4th PEJ Cup will take place on Saturday, 4th July, 18h30 (after the conference ends) and will be followed by dinner and drinks. Notice that this is not an official Portuguese Economic Journal conference event and, therefore, PEJ and Católica Porto Business School (Universidade Católica Portuguesa) have no legal responsibility over it.
Sunday, 5th of July, is a free day which allows participants to explore the beautiful city of Porto, whose city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Also, Católica Porto Business School is located at a prime location in Porto, very close to where the river Douro meets the Atlantic Ocean. Several beaches are only 10 minutes (walking) away from the School.
