Your job
As a lecturer, you teach courses in various areas in applied economics in our Bachelor's and/or Master's programmes. This includes elective courses in labour economics and inequality and/or applied econometrics. Besides that, you will supervise theses.
You will join the Economics Section of U.S.E.
Your qualities
- You have or are close to completing a PhD in Economics.
- You have experience teaching in higher education, preferably at university level.
- You can demonstrate a clear potential for excellence in teaching different economics courses at both undergraduate and graduate level, as well as supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses.
- You have an excellent command of spoken and written English.
- While all teaching presently is in English, candidates who are able to teach in Dutch have an advantage.
- You are in possession of a University Teaching Qualification or are willing to obtain such a qualification.
Our offer
- A fixed-term appointment as Lecturer for up to four years;
- a working week of 28-40 hours, of which 10% is reserved for personal and/or professional development, and the rest is for teaching-related activities (including preparation);
- a gross monthly salary between €4,537 and €6,209 in the case of full-time employment (salary scale 11 under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU));
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus;
- a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible terms of employment based on the CAO NU.
