Prof. Dr. Michael P. Evers

You will be working in a very attractive working environment in the Institute of Economics at the University of Hohenheim, embedded in a DFG-funded project and an enthusiastic team of colleagues. Our department provides a vibrant research atmosphere with regular seminars, workshops, and conferences, access to high-quality datasets and computational resources, and funding for conference travel and research visits. You will also benefit from integration into our structured PhD program with specialized coursework. About the Project: The project studies, within a quantitative macroeconomic modelling framework, how fiscal-federal transfer systems and debt limits shape the strategic behaviour of regional governments in a monetary union. It analyses the two instruments both separately and jointly, asking how they affect regional fiscal policies, economic stabilisation, cross-regional risk sharing, and the long-run sustainability of public debt.
