Urbino Summer School 2026 (July 6-10) at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo: Economic Growth and Development: Demography and Technology. A collaborative research incubator for PhD students and early-career researchers, focusing on ageing and automation, demographic change and directed technological progress, migration and knowledge diffusion, human capital across demographic regimes, and population policies. Keynote speakers/lecturers include Oded Galor (Brown University, USA), Pietro F. Peretto (Duke University, USA), Markus Eberhardt (University of Nottingham, UK), and Maria Savona (LUISS and SPRU). Join the 2nd Urbino Summer School “Economic Growth and Development: Demography and Technology” (July 6–10, 2026), hosted by the Department of Economics, Society, Politics - University of Urbino Carlo Bo. The school examines how demographic change and technological change interact to shape long-run growth and development, combining theoretical insights, empirical evidence, and policy discussion.
Designed as a collaborative research incubator for PhD students and early-career researchers, the program focuses on frontier themes such as: ageing and automation, demographic change and directed technological progress, migration and knowledge diffusion, human capital across demographic regimes, and the growth implications of population policies.
Keynote speakers/lecturers: Markus Eberhardt, Oded Galor, Pietro F. Peretto, Maria Savona.
Venue: Palazzo Battiferri (historic 17th-century building with modern facilities), Urbino (Italy) - a UNESCO World Heritage site.
