Develop your excellent research project together with the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and apply for a 2‑year Marie Skłodowska‑Curie European Postdoctoral Fellowship.

The Department of Economics at the University of Southern Denmark invites highly motivated and talented researchers to submit joint proposals under the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships scheme. Successful proposals will result in a two‑year appointment at our university as a Marie Skłodowska‑Curie fellow. In recent years, we have had a strong track record of securing these grants.

Accepted fellows will join the Econometrics and Data Science Research Group at the Department of Economics. The group conducts high‑quality research and teaching in Econometrics, Statistics, Causal Inference, Machine Learning, and Big Data Analytics. Our research platform has been pioneering in applying machine‑learning methods in economics—for example, using image‑recognition algorithms to transcribe historical documents. While data‑science methods are powerful for prediction, uncovering causal relationships is essential for producing evidence‑based policy recommendations. Our group develops new methods and applies state‑of‑the‑art causal inference in Health and Labor Economics to answer key societal questions.

Eligibility

Candidates of any nationality are welcome to apply. Applicants must hold a PhD degree (obtained no more than eight years ago) and must not have lived or worked in Denmark for more than 12 months within the 36 months preceding the application deadline. The working language is English.

The successful candidate has a strong international profile, a solid publication record, and demonstrated potential for research excellence. We offer an ambitious and stimulating research environment, and we expect fellows to actively contribute to the development of the research group.

If you are interested in pursuing this opportunity, please send your CV and a short, motivated application outlining:

  1. your research field,
  2. your project idea,
  3. the knowledge and skills you aim to develop during the fellowship, and
  4. how your research will contribute to the group.
