Silvana Tenreyro Appointed as IMF Economic Counsellor and Head of Research Department
Silvana Tenreyro has been named the IMF's Economic Counsellor and Director of the Research Department, succeeding Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas. Tenreyro, a prominent economist, will commence her role on August 10, 2026, bringing her extensive academic and policy-making experience to the Fund.
