We offer a offer a doctoral position associated with the Working group on Economic Theory and Computational Economics (ETACE) in the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Bielefeld University. Work will focus on research in the field of competition and industrial economics and will be carried out in cooperation with the private company Harting, an Espelkamp-based company in the electrical industry and one of the leading international suppliers of industrial connection technology.
In particular, the successful candidate will be involved in research studying the effect of standardisation of (technical) interfaces in supply chains and production processes on the structure of value chains, intensity of competition, market dynamics and other market characteristics. From a methodological perspective, a combination of empirical work, theoretical analysis and (agent-based) simualtion is foreseen.
The succsesful candidate is expected to enroll and actively participate in the structured doctoral programme of the Bielefeld Graduate School of Economics and Management (BiGSEM).
