In addition to his new role, Boehm is affiliated with the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London and the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics. Before joining the University of Geneva, he was a professor at the Geneva Graduate Institute from 2024, following a faculty position at Sciences Po Paris. His career includes visiting positions at prestigious institutions such as Princeton University, Harvard University, and INSEAD.

Boehm's areas of expertise encompass various aspects of economics, including international trade, globalization, development and cooperation policies, international investment, monetary policy, and environmental governance. His research aims to deepen the understanding of contemporary economic challenges, including the dynamics of global trade and the climate transition, as well as the resilience of economies to international shocks.
