Federal University of Santa Catarina

Founded in 1960, the university plays a key role in the economic, social, political and cultural development of Brazil. It aims to prepare highly skilled professionals, to contribute to science and to establish itself as an excellent institution. Nowadays, the investment made in new facilities and the creation of educational programs in Florianópolis, Joinville, Curitibanos and Araranguá, shows the commitment of UFSC to the development of campuses around Brazil that meet the local and regional needs. The university has support programs in sociocultural fields, such as knowledge connections and a center of studies for mature students. UFSC offers 56 undergraduate programs, with a total of 9000 students in postgraduate education.
