The African Development Bank (ADB) was established in 1963 as a multilateral
development finance institution in Tunis, Tunisia. Currently 78 countries are
members of the ADB, which works to improve social and economic conditions, as
well as to alleviate poverty. ADB also provides financial funds to
African companies and governments.Â
