The Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) was established in 2001 in
Barcelona, Spain as a research center for the understanding and promotion of
applied economics. IEB has three main research programs concerning fiscal
federalism, transport and infrastructure, as well as cities and innovation.
More than 40 Spanish and international researchers are employed by the IEB.Â
