Institute of Economy, Finance and Statistics (IEFS)

The Institute of Economy, Finance and Statistics is a public think-tank involved in research in the area of economics, finance, statistics, and social issues, and elaboration of analytical support for reforms and policy makers. The institute's domain of activity consists in performing scientific researches in economy, finance, and statistics, reforming of social sphere, agri-food sector and integration of the Republic of Moldova in world economic circuit. The most important research directions are: 1. Economic and financial models and mechanisms for sustainable growth of the country;  2. Economic policies and informational base for rural development in the context of food security of the Republic of Moldova;  3. Agricultural Economics and Rural Development.  4. Scientific research on the improvement of statistical informational system according to EU standards;  5. Demographic and socio-economic policies of development of the Republic of Moldova.
