The School of Management of Politecnico di Milano delivers an end-to-end portfolio of services in research, education and high-level consultancy within the field of management, economics and industrial engineering. The School of Management is made up by the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering and by MIP Graduate School of Business. The Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (DIG) carries out research and teaching in three main areas: Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering. Since being established, research in DIG has been defined by its commitment to cutting-edge topics within the international scientific debate and its awareness of the demands of industry and services. DIG research is aimed at producing excellent science in these fields though a particular research approach characterized by multidisciplinarity, multiple methodologies and leveraging on networks. At the same time, research at DIG aims at contributing to the creation of a better and more inclusive society and at promoting improvement of the well-being of people through better and safer products, services, workplaces and environment. MIP Graduate School of Business was founded in 1979 as a Consortium between the Politecnico di Milano and many Italian institutions and several leading public and private industrial groups and is today a non-for-profit consortium limited company. In 2007, the School of Management was initially accredited by EQUIS and joined the circle of 140 leading business schools accredited by EFMD. Since first joining the Financial Times’ rankings of best European Business Schools in 2009, the School of Management received confirmation, in 2014, of the quality of its educational offer, after continuously improving its position and climbing up to the 38th place, with the following five programs, three of which are Master courses, being included in the list: * Executive MBA * Full-Time MBA * Master of Science in Management Engineering * Customised Executive Programs for business * Open Executive Programs for managers and professionals. In 2013, the School has received the prestigious international accreditation from AMBA (Association of MBAs). Since 2014, the School is member of UniCON (International University Consortium for Executive Education), PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) and Cladea (Latin American Council of Management Schools). The Supply Chain Management research group at the School of Management includes several faculty members of various seniority and with different backgrounds. The group has developed extensive research in multiple areas of the Supply Chain Management field, covering topics such as Supply Chain Strategy, Supply Chain Integration, Information Technology for Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply Management, Global Supply Chain Management, Sustainable Supply Chain Management. The group has established a broad network of international collaborations with the leading research centres around the world, and several international research projects have been either started or participated, such as the International Manufacturing Strategy Survey (IMSS) and the International Purchasing Survey (IPS). The group has a substantive score of publications on the most relevant academic journals in the field, but is also active in industry-sponsored, applied research projects (called Osservatori), which lead to a more managerial-oriented dissemination activity.
