United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction

United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) was created in December 1999 and is the secretariat of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR). UNISDR functions in the fields of humanitarian issues and development, and its main focus is to reduce disaster risks in the international system. The UNISDR also focuses on climate change adaption, creating disaster-proof cities, and building investments for disaster risk reduction. The current head of this UN office is Margareta Wahlström.
