The Department of Economics and Management at the University of Trento is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on a project exploring the role of psychophysiological measures in food choices. The position will be funded by the EU project COMFOCUS (Communities on Food Consumer Science - https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101005259).
Duration: 16 months (approximately from November 2021 to March 2023).
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research on the influence that emotions and psychophysiological reactions to food products and environments have on food purchasing and consumption behaviour. The postdoctoral fellow will review the literature and develop a set of best practices on the use of emerging technologies (galvanic skin response and heart rate sensors, eye-trackers, FaceReader) to measure psychophysiological reactions in food consumer research. These best practices will be then used by the postdoctoral fellow to design and conduct economic experiments that study the role of emotions in the purchase and consumption of food products.
Applicants are expected to hold a PhD degree in Economics, Consumer Science or Psychology and be able to work in an English speaking work environment. They should have some knowledge in the use of the galvanic skin sensors to measure galvanic skin response to stimuli. It would be a plus to have experience in designing, conducting economic experiments; in recruiting participants from the general population; in using value and preference elicitation techniques such as DCEs and experimental auctions; in measuring psychophysiological reactions using galvanic skin response and heart rate sensors, eye-trackers, FaceReader.
