Editorial Changes Announced for Econometric Society Journals

The Econometric Society has announced editorial changes for several of its journals, effective from July 1, 2026, and July 1, 2027, respectively, thanking outgoing editors for their service and welcoming new appointees.
Beginning July 1, 2026, Mikkel Plagborg-Møller from Princeton University will join Quantitative Economics as a Co-Editor, succeeding Jim Hamilton. Additionally, Peter Arcidiacono from Duke University will replace Serena Ng as the Editor for empirical and econometrics monographs. The Society expressed gratitude to Jim and Serena for their contributions during their tenures.
More changes are set to take effect on July 1, 2027. Econometrica will welcome Fuhito Kojima from the University of Tokyo and Thierry Mayer from Sciences Po (which also announced the news) as Co-Editors, taking over from Parag Pathak, Francesco Trebbi, and Leeat Yariv.
In Theoretical Economics, Geoffroy de Clippel from Brown University will assume the role of Co-Editor, replacing Rakesh Vohra.
In their press release, the Econometric Society acknowledged the "outstanding service, dedication, and professionalism" of the departing Co-Editors, adding of the new appointments that the society "anticipates that their replacements will live up to the high standards set by their predecessors".
In other news, Joan Llull, the Data Editor, has agreed to extend his term through at least June 30, 2031. The Society also extended its thanks to those who participated in the search committees for identifying suitable replacements for the departing editors.
