Full-time position available on or after September 1, 2020 in Financial Services.
Under the general direction of the Student Services Financial Manager, this position is responsible for researching, analyzing, reconciling and entering journal entries to general ledger accounts, as well as assisting students with account balances. The incumbent will also have responsibility for Cashnet Emarkets for the campus.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts within appropriate guidelines including but not limited to Federal and state financial aid grants, state supported trusts, student accounts and foundation and auxiliary entities.
Apply problem solving skills.
Recommend resolutions for process improvements. Process general ledger corrections.
Maintain and create Peoplesoft item types, Cashnet item codes and validate general ledger mapping for proper usage and recording to ledger.
Enter journals for expenditure and revenue reclassifications for year end closing and GAAP. Prepare year end and GAAP PBC schedules.
Create and implement Cashnet EMarket websites for campus departments.
Provide Emarket guidance and training to department staff to maintain own sites.
Provide customer service to students including analysis of account balances.
Respond to student email and phone calls.
Other duties as assigned.
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, business administration, finance or a closely related field OR a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Five years experience with Cashnet, Peoplesoft Student Financials, Peoplesoft CFS, and student customer service.
General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
General knowledge of office methods and procedures.
General knowledge of statistical and mathematical presentation of data.
Advanced proficiency with current word processing and spreadsheet software programs, web browsers, query tools, integrated financial systems and/or other types of records management systems.
Ability to interpret and follow instructions and policy guidelines.
Ability to analyze financial and statistical data and draw conclusions.
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques in finding solutions to complex accounting problems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to communicate effectively with others inside and outside the unit, including conveying technical information to non-Accountants.
$3,664 - $7,073 per month plus excellent paid benefits. (Anticipated salary will be $3,664 – $4,500 per month, depending on the qualifications of the successful finalist.)
