The Department of Clinical Research seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to develop and teach CLNR 561: Healthcare Economics in an online 8-week course. 

As part of Campbell University's College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, our Master’s in Clinical Research students will cover in-depth international perspective on healthcare economics. This perspective will be delivered by starting at the macro- economic, global level and then narrowing the focus of study to numerous national healthcare systems and landmark case studies. All case studies will be aimed at measuring the economic impact of specific healthcare crises. Each case will be preceded by the description of cultural values that impact healthcare delivery and government response in the event of a healthcare crisis. Available positions are conditional upon enrollment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage course materials from learning objectives and selected textbook provided by the Department Chair.
  • Select and compile tests, assignments and/or online discussion exercises that permit measurement of performance relative to the course learning objectives.
  • Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives in the modality selected by the Academic Director.
  • For an online course, Campbell’s Powell training must be completed prior to teaching the course.
  • Evaluate and assess student performance.
  • Send grades on the Blackboard Grade Center as well as Campbell’s Self-Service portal.  Final grades will be sent to the Program Manager for submission to the registrar’s office.
  • Respond Promptly to Grade Determination.

Education/Experience: 

  • A terminal degree in a related field is required.
  • Industry experience desired.
  • Experience in teaching adult students, specifically in higher education, desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Communicate effectively through both oral and written channels.
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with University faculty, staff, and students
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Upon hire, broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX and FERPA guidelines.
