Assistant Professor of Management
Accounting & Control (f/m/d)
located at WHU Campus Vallendar, starting April 1, 2023 or later.
WHU has more than 50 faculty members in the fields of management, accounting and finance, economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing and sales, and supply chain management. Research at WHU adheres to three research principles: quality, internationality, as well as practical and academic relevance. WHU faculty consistently publish their research in the most prestigious journals. The position at hand will be part of the Institute of Management Accounting and Control. Under the joint directorship of Professor Marko Reimer and Professor Utz Schäffer, the institute bundles the numerous teaching and research activities of the associated professors and doctoral students.
- Performing research in the field of empirical, qualitative management accounting
- Collaborating closely with other researchers at the institute
- Conducting teaching across the various WHU degree programs in English
- Mentoring final theses (Bachelor, Master, MBA) and doctoral students
- A completed or nearly completed PhD in accounting, management, sociology or closely related disciplines with a qualitative research orientation
- Trajectory of research with potential for leading publications in accounting
- Interests in critical, interdisciplinary, or sociological research in accounting
- Desirably previous teaching experience, especially in English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
