Description of Duties:

The BMD Exercise Event Lead supports theMissile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development forEnterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Provide life cycleleadership and management of Exercise and War-game events.

  • Events range fromcomplex fully distributed and federated Combatant Command (CCMD) Exercises torelatively simple unclassified BMDS Demonstrations.

  • Be responsible for theentire event life cycle, which includes design, test, and execution.

  • Be responsible formanaging MDA’s support to events that may include support to the followingAORs: EUCOM, CENTCOM, INDOPACOM, NORTHCOM/STRATCOM, as well as their subordinateunits and MDA 2ltrs.

  • There are also a widerange of event participants; which can include; senior policy makers,general/flag officers, foreign Ambassadors, members of Congress and the presscorps.

  • Most events areengineered to include hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and operator-in-the-loop(OITL) participation; and may include multiple simulations and elements.

  • Be the Control AccountManager for assigned tasks.

Thesuccessful candidate will:

  • Have experience in technicalwriting, senior leader briefings. preparation/presentation and direct customerinterface.

  • Be able to effectivelycollaborate with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to integrate capabilities asrequired into increasingly complex exercise environments.

  • Be able to clearly andsuccinctly communicate complex concepts, issues, and status to seniorcontractor and government leadership.

  • Be able to travel worldwide, sometimes on short notice(approx. 25%).

  • Be able perform shift work as required for eventpreparation and execution.

This position will be filled atSchriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO.

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the followingcombinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years ofgeneral experience; Associate’s degree and 10 years of general experience;Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 6years of general experience.

  • Must have at least 7years of directly related/specialized experience

  • Must have at least 3years of experience in a management or leadership role

  • Experience withBallistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS) operations, capabilities andrequirements

  • Solid skills with MSOffice products to include Visio and Project

  • Knowledge of missiledefense doctrine, concepts of operation (CONOPS), tactics, techniques, andprocedures (TTPs), and Integrated Missile Defense (IMD) system architectures

  • Experience with CombatantCommand exercise programs

  • Must have an active DoDSecret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of BMDM&S tools, to include SSF Interface Unit (SIU), Open Systems ArchitectureSensor Models (OSM), Missile Defense Space Warning Toll (MDST), BMDInternational Simulation (BMD I-Sim), etc.

  • An in-depthunderstanding of Joint Doctrine

  • Familiarity with BMDCONOPS and TTP development

  • Experience withMilitary Command and Control systems & Operations Centers

  • Experience inEUCOM, CENTCOM, INDOPACOM, and/or NORTHCOM/STRATCOM IAMD operations orexercises

  • Active DoD TS/SCIclearance
