Practitioner / consultant
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the technical and operational addressing and articulation of the HIHI and related programmes, strategies, agendas and projects
He/she will support the Regional Office in providing operative support for the work in the participating countries and facilitate the contributions of the HiH strategy to FAO´s strategic framework, the Programme of Work for the 2020-2021 biennium and the 36th LARC. In particular, the incumbent will:
Support RI 2, in coordination with RI 1 and 3, in strengthening the territorial development agenda and linking it with FAO´s poverty / extreme poverty and hunger reduction strategies
Support the operative articulation of MWH, 100-T, and the strengthening of social protection systems and its integration in broader livelihood and rural development strategies, securing that gender, ethnic and youth based approaches are met
Provide technical and operative support to the coordination of 100-T’s operations
Provide technical and operative support to the management of the “Knowledge Management and Exchange, and Innovative Tools for Strengthening Rural Development in Lagged Territories” project.
This consultancy will demand travelling abroad. Countries are yet to be defined.
- Advanced university degree (Master/PhD) relevant to the above areas (social sciences, government, public administration, agricultural or rural development, international development, economics)
- Extensive experience (4+ years) at intermediate levels of responsibility in managing for results, including experience in developing countries;
- Working knowledge (level C) of Spanish and English
