The Humanities and Sciences Division at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track teaching position in Economics. The successful candidate will teach college-level Economics courses to students in our technical, transfer degree, and non-degree programs.

Specific Duties:
  • Deliver learner-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning, student involvement and student success, and by providing timely feedback to students.
  • Provide each student with a syllabus that outlines student learning outcomes, clear course expectations, evaluations, topical outlines and timelines.
  • Prepare all course materials and lessons. 
  • Develop real-life learning activities that align with the learning outcomes defined in the Department’s standardized syllabi.
  • Participate in developing new labs and demonstrations as needed to enhance the student’s understanding of course material, and assist in the maintenance of the lab and demonstration equipment.
  • Submit student grades, administrative reports, and conduct other required record-keeping in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Maintain office hours in accordance with the Humanities and Sciences Division’s policy.
  • Attend College, Departmental, and Divisional meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree with 18 cohesive units of graduate coursework in Economics
  • A minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience at a regionally accredited institution or its equivalent.  Experience as a teaching or research assistant does not meet this qualification.
  • Experience with or ability to learn and use the College’s Learning Management System (i.e., Blackboard, Brightspace, or similar).
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Economics
  • Three years of college-level Economics teaching experience (teaching or research assistant experience does not meet this qualification).
  • Experience teaching in a two-year technical or community college.
  • Experience teaching and developing online instruction

  • Proven success in addressing the needs of students from diverse cultures, ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.

  • Ability to use a computer and relevant academic software.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a diverse, professional community, and student population.
  • Possess good organizational and planning skills.
