• Transcribing and analyzing approximately 12 hours of qualitative focus group data


• Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communications skills, and accomplished research skills (especially in qualitative methods, but also in understanding and using quantitative indicators) • Excellent computer skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database management, statistical software, internet literacy) • Experience in transcribing focus group data would be an asset • Student will be self-motivated and have the ability to handle diverse tasks, work well independently as well as under supervision • Enrolment in a graduate degree program is required • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in island-related issues such as economic, social and political change, population and sustainability
