The Core Facility Hohenheim (Modul Data and Statistical Consulting, Dr. Karsten Schweikert), and the Institute of Economics (Department of Econometrics and Statistics, Prof. Dr. Robert Jung) invite applications for a DFG-Funded PhD Position (EG 13 TV-L / 75%).
This position is to be filled as part of the German Research Foundation’s project „Efficient Detection and Estimation of Multiple Structural Breaks in Cointegrated Systems”. The focus of this research project is on the statistical modelling of structural change in long-run equilibrium relationships between economic variables. The main task involves the participation in the research project in close cooperation with the project initiators.
The successful candidate is expected to pursue a PhD degree within the formal PhD-program at the Institute of Economics (joint supervision of Prof. Jung and Dr. Schweikert). The position is initially funded for 2 years but an extension is possible. Increasing the scope of employment may be possible conditionally on acquiring additional funding.
- An above-average university degree (Diploma, Master) in Statistics, Mathematics, Data
Science, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of (Time Series) Econometrics and Statistics.
- High degree of initiative and very good analytical skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of German would be advantageous.
- Advanced skills in R, Matlab, oder Python.
