Your tasks

Your responsibilities include:

  • the establishment of your research profile for an academic career in "Public Economics"
  • contributing with your research to the success of the EU-funded ERC starting grant VALURED, led by Prof. Paolo G. Piacquadio. URL to the Project:
  • co-supervising the work of research assistants and PhD students
  • participation to research grants applications and, to a small extent, to university teaching

Our main areas of interest are taxation and redistribution policies, welfare criteria, inequality.
Our research mostly belongs to “theory" and “applied microeconomic theory." However, we also aim at extending our research areas to more macroeconomic and/or more quantitative approaches to public economics.

Your profile

  • You finished a PhD in Economics or expect to do so before August 1st, 2022.
  • You have strong research background in our areas of interest.
  • Excellent knowledge in public economics and optimal taxation models.
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious researcher
  • Above average capabilities, independent working, fast perception, and originality
  • Excellent team spirit
  • Excellent command of English (German is NOT required)
  • Experience in scientific publication in journals is of advantage
