The ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim is looking to fill the following position in the Research Department “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics”
Postdoctoral Researcher (100% | f/m/d)
As a successful applicant, you will contribute to the department’s scientific research agenda as well as its economic policy advising projects. The focus of your research activities will comprise determinants and impacts of firm-level innovation, links between public and private research, and issues in new technology based entrepreneurship. Working with a wide range of empirical methods, you will conduct scientific research with the goal of publication in high-level scientific journals and engage in economic policy advising projects with high visibility among economic decision makers and the general public.
The position is suitable for researchers who have completed their doctorate in economics, strategic management, industrial organisation, entrepreneurship, or economics of science and innovation. Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of micro-economics and micro-econometrics. Candidates are not expected to teach but should be interested to develop the department’s research agenda, to contribute to an excellent publication performance and, based on rigorous academic research, to advise national and European authorities. On top of this, candidates should have excellent writing skills. Fluency in English is required; command of German is highly appreciated.

This is a full-time position for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of extension to another three years. Remuneration is based on the TV-L statutory salary scale and its associated public sector benefits.
