The Victorian Cancer Biobank (VCB) is a not-for-profit consortium, funded by the Victorian Government through the Victorian Cancer Agency. The current consortium members include Cancer Council Victoria as the lead agency, Austin Health, Eastern Health, Melbourne Health, Monash Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The purpose is to provide high quality, ethically obtained biospecimens and biospecimen related services to support research that will lead to improvements in cancer diagnosis and treatment. The central operations of VCB is part of Victorian Cancer RegistryDivision within Cancer Council Victoria.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Quality Manager to join the Victorian Cancer Biobank. Reporting to the Manager, Victoria Cancer Biobank, your role is to:

Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) for biospecimen and data management.

Lead the entire VCB network to audit, review and improve existing VCB practices or procedures for collection, processing, storage, retrieval and distribution of biospecimen as well as the associated data at all sites.

Lead the VCB team to develop and implement a standardised VCB training program.

Prepare, obtain and maintain certification from Canadian Tissue Repository Network (CTRNet), and subsequently developing a roadmap for VCB to obtain ISO accreditation.

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

Tertiary qualification in science or related field

Demonstrated experience in quality management conforming to international standards (e.g. ISO 9001:2015), including system development, implementation and improvement.

Good knowledge of external certification/accreditation processes.

High-level analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and recommend solutions for challenging issues.

Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and engage key stakeholders.

What we can offer you
