As part of our team, candidates will conduct quantitative empirical research in the domain of strategy, organization design and platform markets in close collaboration with Professor Kretschmer and other team members. Candidates will also gain experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars, and support students in thesis work.
The position is initially for two years with an option to extend, with a starting date to be arranged based on mutual agreement, but earliest from March 2020.
The Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization at LMU Munich School of Management conducts academically rigorous and phenomenon-driven research and teaching in the domain of strategy, organization design and platform markets, building on our principal tenets of quantitative management research. We present our research at international conferences and publish in leading journals, offering access to an international research network. Alumni from our Institute have gone on to pursue academic careers at IE Business School, Imperial College, Bocconi University, and Copenhagen Business School, among others.
You hold a superior academic record and a Master’s degree or equivalent in Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Experience in working with empirical methods, especially large-scale large-scale datasets, is highly desirable. Prior research experience or work experience in a related domain are advantageous.
You are intellectually curious, possess strong analytical capabilities, and a strong interest in conducting theory-supported quantitative empirical research motivated by real-life phenomena in the domain of strategy, organization design and platform markets. You add to our team strong organizational skills, are proactive, able to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrate perseverance through challenges, and possess excellent English communication skills (written and oral).
