The Group of Economics & Philosophy invites applications for two positions as Research Assistant (f/m/d) in Microeconomics with the opportunity of obtaining a Doctoral Degree (Dr. rer. pol.) (0,7 FTE position; 3 years with option to extend)

Starting September 1, 2022 or later, we are seeking two research assistants to support the team of Microeconomics at the EBS Business School. The group`s international team of professors and research assistants has a strong research orientation and aims for publications in peer-reviewed international journals. The position offers the opportunity of obtaining a Doctoral Degree if the candidate meets the criteria for admission to the Doctoral studies at EBS Business School (https://www.ebs.edu/en/doctorate-bs). The Chair’s focus areas in research and teaching include topics in Applied Microeconomics, Personnel Economics, Behavioral and Organizational Economics, Game Theory, Contract Theory, and Industrial Organization.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conducting high-quality research on topics related to the group’s focus areas
  • Working on applied questions in Microeconomics using theoretical modeling as well as further analytical, experimental, and quantitative methods
  • Supporting the group in research and teaching
  • Writing a cumulative dissertation and completing the School’s Doctoral program
  • Teaching in the School’s BSc and/or MSc programs as well as supervising academic student papers and theses

 

Your Profile:

  • Master Degree (MSc, MSQ, MRes, or Diploma) or close to completion in Economics, Business, Mathematics or related fields with excellent grades
  • A strong interest in Economics with a focus on Personnel, Behavioral and Organizational Economics, or Industrial Organization as well as in analytical, quantitative and computational methods
  • Distinct methodological and analytical skills, solid knowledge of quantitative methods in economics analysis
  • Teamwork capabilities, ability to work independently, and willingness to take on responsibility
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge in English (knowledge in German is not required)
