Research associate (PhD-student or Post-Doc)

Responsibilites:

  • Research and publication activity in the area of pluralist economics and/or political economy
  • Participation in the theoretical and empirical research agenda of the Institute for Socio-Economics
  • Participation in the acquisition and execution of third-party funded projects
  • Contribution to the department’s teaching obligations and administrative duties
  • The position will offer the possibility of scientific research and qualification

Profile:

  • Successfully completed course of study of at least 8 semesters (Diploma course, MA, or similar) in economics, sociology, political science or another relevant subject, e.g. in the humanities, social sciences or natural sciences, of at least 8 semesters (i.e. diploma, master's or similar) or a PhD degree in one of these subjects
  • Experience or skills in one (or more) of the following areas: Socio-Economics, Political Economy, Heterodox Economics, Econometrics, Economic History, History of Economic Thought, Macroeconomics, Distribution, Ecological Economics, Public Finance, Mathematical Modelling
  • Ability to work independently and reliably
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the press
  • Very good command of English and/or German
  • Good communication and team work skills
  • High motivation to cover existing teaching obligations and to contribute to on-going research projects
