The Chairs of Econometrics and Financial Econometrics are part of the Department of Economics, consisting of 12 professorships, at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. The department cooperates closely with the economics faculties in Bochum, Dortmund and Duisburg as part of the University Alliance Ruhr (https://www.uaruhr.de/index.html.en), among others contributing to the Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (https://www.rgs-econ.org/).
Your main tasks are to
- conduct independent research as well as collaborate in research projects of the chair
- publish in international journals
- prepare and deliver tutorials and lectures
- contribute to some tasks in the administration of the chair
Your profile
- a Masters university degree in economics, statistics, econometrics, or mathematics (or comparable) of at least 8 semesters, with competitive grades
- a Ph.D. degree in econometrics or a related field is desirable
- interest in the (further) development of econometric methods, preferably in research areas of the chairs (e.g. panel data, hypothesis testing, time series analysis, financial econometrics)
- an affinity for teaching that is innovative in terms of content and technology
- good knowledge of statistical programming packages (e.g., R, python)
