The Department of Economics at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice invites expressions of interest for a position as Senior Assistant Professor of Economics. The Department is currently seeking candidates in any field of economics. Candidates using a theoretical approach to study issues in micro and macro-economics are particularly welcome.

The senior assistant professorship (“ricercatore a tempo determinato di tipo B, rtdB”) is a three-year tenure track position. Tenure as associate professor will be granted after three years based on a positive evaluation of the department and on obtaining the Italian national habilitation to an associate professorship. Applicants are expected to have a promising track record of publications in top international journals and evidence of recognition in the academic community of their field.

Two special conditions make the current position financially attractive. Firstly, the position is supported by a Marco Fanno Fellowship granted by the Unicredit Foundation (three annual installments of 15000 euros). Secondly, applications from scholars working abroad and who satisfy special conditions are treated under a favorable tax waiver scheme.

Applications from international scholars are especially welcome. The Department offers courses taught in English both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, therefore knowledge of Italian is neither required nor advantageous. The candidate is expected to start within 2021.

Our Department is devoted to promoting high-quality research. The most recent Italian National Research Assessment ranked us as fifth economics department in Italy, and we have been identified as a “Departments of Excellence” by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, thus securing special financial support for the 2018/2022 period. The Department also ranks favorably for research output in all international research rankings.

More information about the Department can be found at http://www.unive.it/pag/28365/.

Application Instructions

Expressions of interest should be received by October 31st, 2020. They should include a CV and should be sent to recruiting.dec@unive.it .

Please note that this is a call for interest, not a job vacancy announcement. The Department will advertise job vacancies later in the year. For additional information, please contact the hiring committee at recruiting.dec@unive.it .
