Technical Manager Location – Milton Keynes £35000-£50000 + Benefits We are seeking a Technical Manager on behalf of our client. The candidate will have an exceptional technical background including experience as a technical manager, developer, systems analyst, or applications engineer. Technical Manager Role - Develops and executes project plans and statements of work. Job purpose Manager and oversee technical development carried out within the group. To oversee the building and maintenance of product & manufacturing specifications to ensure goods are produced to the customer’s requirements. To offer technical support to all other department where required. Duties and responsibilities Maintain existing material and product specifications • To create, implement and maintain the company’s trial & development procedure. • To oversee and manage the trial and development process. To include initial request/qualification as well as overseeing manufacturing and compilation of results. •To assist the sales department with export/new business offering administrative and technical support • To assist the sales department with new product requirements, this includes liaising with estimating production department, running trials if necessary and compiling product specifications if/when required. •To assist the sales team with any technical requirements regarding the OEMs and other key accounts. This should include attendance at regular meetings as and when required. This ranges from problems with existing lines to developing new products when required. • Assist the client services department and verse technical aspect of customer complaints. This will include customer visits when necessary. • Provide the interface between sales and administration through production and planning departments. • Managing priorities, ensuring that the team knows at all times the work in hand and timescale requirement involved. • To arrange and manage all the contract reviews when necessary or requested by management. • Devising and implementing company technical strategy. • Establishing and meeting technical KPIs, highlighting problematic areas to the Operations Director with proposed solutions. Nature and Scope Must have and maintain up to date qualifications and knowledge of RFID and smart solution. The job holder is required to develop good working relationships with other departments, to ensure the areas of responsibility are completed to the required standard and any reports are produced on time. The job holder must possess a high level of technical knowledge, to fully understand the end to end operation of the site. The job holder requires good organisational skills, commercial awareness, business understanding and management skills i.e. good motivator and strong communicator and be a problem solver. RFID experience is essential and must have a mechanical background, not necessarily engineering. - Extensive Domestic travel, often spending extended periods at customer sites, some European travel and occasional international trips. This role, whilst starting as Technical Manager has the remit to grow and build Job Type: Permanent. Salary: £35000 - £50000/annum.
