Assistant professor / lecturer
The School of International Studies of the University of Trento seeks to appoint a Tenure-track assistant professor in Economics/Economic Policy.
Candidates should hold a PhD in Economics or an equivalent qualification, an excellent publication record, and evidence of high-quality teaching and mentoring.
While all fields of Economics will be considered, preference will be given to candidates specialized in the empirical analysis of environmental and energy issues, and the associated international economics and political economy aspects.
To be eligible for direct appointment from abroad, applicants must have been employed as faculty members or research staff by a foreign university (or research institute) for at least three consecutive years, and must hold an equivalent academic position (Researcher, Lecturer, Assistant Professor) at their current foreign university. Any application not satisfying this requirement cannot be considered.
The position is a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professorship (Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato RTD-B). This is a fixed term three-years contract that leads to Associate Professorship upon obtainment of the national scientific qualification (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale) and positive evaluation by the University.
This is a joint position between the School of International Studies (70%) and the Department of Economics and Management (30%), and carries a teaching load of 90 hours per year (split among the two institutions). Finally, the University grants a start-up research fund of about 12.000 euro.
Candidates should have fluent knowledge of the English and Italian languages.
The University of Trento aims to achieve greater gender balance in the composition of its academic staff: accordingly, female candidates are encouraged to apply for the position.
