Research Assistant, PhD Candidate, Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)

for 3 years, E13 TV-L, 75 % 

 

We offer a position that provides opportunities for further academic qualification (e.g., a PhD) and methodological and didactic training. The position is initially limited to three years. The specific contract duration depends on your individual qualifications and academic goals.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Active participation in the chair’s research projects, as well as the independent development of own research ideas

- Presentation of research results at national and international conferences and publication in internationally recognized academic Journals

- Preparation and teaching of tutorial sessions, as well as their further development

- Contribution to administrative duties at the chair, including the supervision of students and thesis projects

In addition, regular opportunities arise to expand employment scope through participation in third-party-funded research projects.

 

YOUR PROFILE

- Completed Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or Data Science (or a closely related field) with above-average results, or close to completion; alternatively, a completed or nearly completed PhD in a relevant field

- Strong interest in academic research combined with excellent knowledge of statistics and econometrics, as well as modern methods of statistical / machine learning, preferably applied to financial market data

- Advanced programming skills in R and/or Python

- Ideally, some initial experience in teaching

- High level of commitment and reliability, with the ability to work independently

- Ability to convincingly present academic research results

- Very good command of English and, ideally, German, as well as the willingness to further develop language skills if necessary
