The Professorship of Money, Credit and Banking, which is part of the Institute for Theoretical Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Management Science, seeks to fill the above position.

About the position

  • Salary group 13 TV-L
  • Fixed term depending on planned academic training (initially expected to be 3 years)
  • 50 % of a full-time position, part-time position possible
  • At the earliest opportunity

Duties

  • Conduct quantitative research on topics related to money, credit and banking with the aim of obtaining a doctoral degree
  • Write and publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and present your research at national and international conferences
  • Participation in the research and teaching activities of the Faculty of Economics and Management Science and the Central German Doctoral Program in Economics (CGDE)

Requirements

  • A very good master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Econometrics or Finance
  • Profound knowledge of quantitative research methods, such as statistics, econometrics and/or experimental economics
  • A strong interest in financial intermediation, monetary policy and financial markets is desirable
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • A team-oriented mindset and openness to international collaboration and research stays abroad
