This project has one or more of the following objectives:
- To understand the incentives of individuals and organisations with respect to privacy and data protection;
- To build an analytical framework to investigate the optimal design of privacy laws that protect individuals and foster investment in data protection;
- To provide an economic analysis of the optimal design of data breach notification laws that ensure an effective response to malicious attacks, and
- To analyse the relationship between promoting competition and encouraging data protection investment in highly concentrated industries.
