The ifo Institute, Dresden Branch, announces the 11th ifo Dresden Workshop on Regional Economics. The workshop aims at facilitating the networking of young scientists and at promoting the exchange of their latest research. Relevant topics include regional structural change, political economy, economic history, and public economics. Preference is given to empirical papers estimating causal inferences in a spatial context, natural experiments, or recent geo-data and respective methods.
We specifically encourage Ph.D.students and post-doctoral researchers to submit their research. Each paper will be allocated 45 minutes, to be divided between the presentation, a short discussion by an assigned workshop participant, and a general discussion.
We hope to be able to hold the workshop as an on-site meeting in Dresden. However we are constantly monitoring the situation with regard to Covid-19 and will keep all interested parties with ongoing developments.
There is no conference fee. We do not offer travel grants.
Please submit your (preliminary) paper by July 9, 2021 via the workshop website or inomics. Alternatively, check the ifo website for forthcoming conferences. Acceptance decisions will be announced by July 23, 2021.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Dresden (or online).
