Organizing Committee
The Ph.D. Workshop in Networks and Political Economy is organized by Ph.D. candidates from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne to bring together Ph.D. candidates and early postdocs across diverse fields of economics. It will be hosted by the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne at Maison des Sciences Économiques on the 25th and 26th of January 2024.
The workshop will host four keynote speakers:
- David Chavalarias (EHESS, École des hautes études en sciences sociales)
- Alan Kirman (EHESS, École des hautes études en sciences sociales)
- Maria Petrova (UPF, Universitat Pompeu Fabra)
- Ekaterina Zhuravskaya (PSE, Paris School of Economics)
The deadline for applying is October 30, and it can be done by submitting an extended abstract (maximum 1000 words).
The conference will focus on topics of political economy. In particular, papers that employ methodologies of network analysis, machine learning, text analysis, applied economics, behavioral economics, spatial econometrics, and complexity, but everyone is welcome to apply.
The workshop provides a unique opportunity for researchers to discuss their projects. Members from the faculty of Paris 1 and potentially external scholars from other Paris universities will offer their feedback as discussants for participants' presentations.
