Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics
October 23-24, 2019
Keynote speaker: Peter K. Schott (Yale School of Management)
Call for papers
We hereby invite economists to submit their current research for presentation at the Workshop on Globalization and Structural Change, to be held at Maastricht University, October 23-24, 2019. The workshop will take place within the premises of the School of Business and Economics (SBE).
The aim of the workshop is to engage in academic exchange on recent developments, challenges, and adjustments countries face in a world that is increasingly connected through international trade and other forms of international economic and political integration. Contributions address pressing questions facing our societies, which are related to globalization and overall economic well-being, the distribution of its benefits and costs, and its repercussions for policymakers and governments.
To facilitate collaboration and contacts among researchers at different stages of their careers, we particularly encourage young scholars (PhD/Post-Doc level) to apply.
The workshop will start in the morning of October 23rd and end around lunch-time of the 24th. A total of 15 papers will be accepted, whereof 10 will be presented in plenary sessions, and 5 will be presented in a poster session. Peter K. Schott (Yale School of Management) will give a keynote lecture at the end of the first day of the workshop.
There is no fee for this workshop (lunch on 23rd, coffee breaks, and conference dinner included), but participants must seek their own funding for travel expenses and accommodation.
Extended abstracts or preferably a full paper should be submitted electronically in PDF format by May 15th, 2019, to firstname.lastname@example.org. Selections will be made and authors notified by the end of June 2019. Further information about registration for the workshop will be posted together with the decision notification. A full program will be made available at the beginning of September 2019.
