King Felipe VI of Spain has presented the "King of Spain Economics Award 2024" to economist Roberto Serrano for his outstanding scientific and professional work in the field of economics. 

The award, established in 1986 by the José Celma Prieto Foundation, aims to honor individuals who contribute to economic knowledge and societal well-being. 

The ceremony, held at the Bank of Spain, was attended by economic and academic figures. Serrano, a Spanish-born economist currently teaching at Brown University in the U.S., received recognition for his academic and research achievements. 

King Felipe highlighted Serrano as a role model and emphasized the importance of rigorous research and knowledge dissemination in society. 

Serrano, who has published extensively on game theory and economics, has overcome challenges due to a visual impairment, becoming a respected figure in the academic world. His dedication to research and teaching has earned him accolades such as being named among "The Best 300 Professors" by Princeton Review.
