The Journal of Financial Economics (JFE) is a leading peer-reviewed academic journal covering theoretical and empirical topics in financial economics. Purchase and pricing information

For 2019, four volumes (135-138) will be published. The personal subscription price will be US$ 199. Subscriptions are accepted on a calendar year basis. Orders must be placed with the publisher (Elsevier Science).

The institutional subscription price will be US$ 6,011. Subscriptions are accepted on a prepaid basis only and are entered on a calendar year basis.

Submitting to the JFE

The Journal of Financial Economics provides a specialized forum for the publication of research in the area of financial economics and the theory of the firm, placing primary emphasis on the highest quality analytical, empirical, and clinical contributions in the following major areas: capital markets, financial institutions, corporate finance, corporate governance, and the economics of organizations.

Submission Policy

Unsolicited manuscripts must be accompanied by a submission fee of $900 for authors who are current personal subscribers to the Journal of Financial Economics and $1,000 for non-subscribers (institutional subscriptions do not count). To encourage quicker response, referees are paid an honorarium out of the submission fee. There are no page charges. The submission fee is refunded on the last submission if the paper is accepted for publication in the JFE .

For non-subscribing authors who wish to subscribe to the Journal of Financial Economics , you can subscribe at the North-Holland web site . After submitting your subscription to Elsevier, send the subscriber fee of $900 with proof of subscription (a copy of the subscription order form) and your manuscript to the E-mail address of the Editorial Office. All submissions must be in the form of email attachments that are either Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF files. Further details are available here .

Payment may be made using Paypal . Alternatively, the submission fee can be paid by check made payable to the Journal of Financial Economics , but it must be drawn on a U.S. Bank and in U.S. currency. Or, you can send money using Zelle.

If your paper is accepted for publication, you will be expected to agree to the JFE replication policy.
