With February not quite over and temperatures across much of the northern hemisphere still hovering around zero, there is no better time to start planning for the summer! It might not be quite time to dig out your summer dresses and bathing suits, but when it comes to summer school, many deadlines are fast approaching.
A few weeks ago weeks ago we posted our list of Top Summer Schools in Economics, and now we’d like to shift our focus to business and management.
The list below offers options from schools and institutions across the globe, with diverse focus, length and style. While we couldn’t quite decide on a Top Ten and therefore are offering our Top Thirteen, there are still plenty of other courses to be found. The courses and programs below are ordered according to application deadline, without preference for topic or location.
1) Copenhagen Business School International Summer University Programme
Course: June 20 – August 1, 2014
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

This intensive six-week summer program caters to both students and professionals from around the globe, allowing them to complete the equivalent of a half-semester course while enjoying the summer in beautiful Copenhagen. Hosted by the prestigious Copenhagen Business School, this summer school draws more than 1,500 participants, creating a strong international environment and abundant opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing.

With two separate programs for MBA and BSc and MSc students, this summer school has a lot to offer. Hosted by the EBS Business School, these courses include lectures, case studies, company visits and organized social activities.
3) BI Norwegian Business School International Summer Programme
Course: June 21 – July 18, 2014
Location: Oslo, Norway
Application deadline: April 1, 2014
Hosted by the BI Norwegian Business School, this program targets students enrolled in both undergraduate and graduate programs. With a specific focus on examining the Scandinavian perspective on international business, participants have the opportunity to delve into research on culture, communication and management.
4) Stockholm University School of Business Summer School
Course: July 21 – August 15, 2014
Location: Stockholm, Sweden
Application deadline: April 7, 2014
Students currently enrolled in one of Stockholm University’s many partner institutions can enroll in this four-week program, offering two courses per week. The summer school includes ample social events and networking opportunities, allowing participants a full and engaging program.
5) University of Mannheim Summer School
Course: June 22 – July 15, 2014
Location: Mannheim, Germany
Application deadline: April 15, 2014
With three overlapping modules, this program offers participants a chance to study at The University of Mannheim, a top-ranked business school in Germany. Targeting students enrolled in a graduate program, the courses offered dive into the relevant subjects of “Digital Entrepreneurship”, “Understanding the German Economy” and “Performance Management”.
6) ESC Rennes School of Business International Summer Programme
Course: June 17 – 27, 2014
Location: Rennes, France
Application deadline: April 15, 2014
This course, which targets mainly undergraduate students, offers a strong focus on business and management with a corporate social responsibility (CSR) lens. Using a stakeholder-centric framework, participants will learn to critically assess the key theoretical approaches to CSR and apply them in a managerial setting.
7) Stanford Graduate School of Business Summer Institute for General Management
Course: June 22 – July 19, 2014
Location: Stanford, United States of America
Application deadline: April 18, 2014
This program is targeted at undergraduate students and recent graduates who are interested in earning an MBA but do not have much prior experience in business. Through an intensive four-week course, this program prepares participants to enter the business world or an MBA course with a solid foundation of relevant knowledge.
8) Chicago Booth Summer Business Scholars Program

This program is aimed at students who have not yet entered business school but are interested in getting a jump on their education. With lectures and workshops from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business’s world-renowned faculty, participants can attend an array of courses across diverse subject relevant to doing business in today’s world.
9) 24th European Doctoral Summer School on Technology Management

Location: Leuven, Belgium

This brief summer school for PhD students is organized by the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management and hosted by KU Leuven. This program represents a unique learning experience for anyone involved in advanced doctoral work in the area of technology and innovation management, providing an exclusive opportunity for feedback from leading academics and editors of renowned journals.
10) IESE Business School MBA Summer School
Course: July 7 – 11, 2014
Location: Barcelona, Spain

This course covers all key subjects studied within an MBA course, including Operations, Managing People in Organizations, Marketing, Accounting and more. Hosted at the Barcelona campus of the IESE Business School, professors use the case method to immerse participants in real-life business scenarios.

This summer program, hosted by world-renowned Harvard University, offers students a broad array of disciplines to choose from, including over a dozen courses in business management. While there is no set application deadline, early registration is encouraged due to the high desirability of this summer school.
12) CBL International Oxford Summer Business School

With five separate sessions packed with diverse offerings, you can choose to spend 2, 4 or 6 weeks in Oxford focusing on cutting-edge topics in business and economics. All courses are taught by faculty members from theUniversity of Oxford or the University of Cambridge, as well as representatives of companies and institutions with close ties to these universities.
13) CBL International Cambridge Summer Institute

Much like its Oxford counterpart, this summer school offers a full program of diverse courses for students at various levels of education and across a wide range of interests. Hosted by the University of Cambridge, students have the opportunity to take full advantage of all of the facilities this top institution has to offer while gaining valuable experience in an international atmosphere.
