Start date: 01.04.2026 or later, fixed for a period of three years. (This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed-term labor contract act [Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG]).

Your responsibilities
Research associates will be expected primarily to teach and conduct research. The research associate will also have the opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications, in particular a doctoral dissertation. At least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the research associate’s own academic work.
The focus of this position is on modern macroeconomic research and teaching, with an emphasis on providing methodological training to students. The teaching load is three hours per week per semester. Research is expected to concentrate on topics in dynamic macroeconomic theory, fiscal and monetary policy, heterogeneous agent models, financial markets, or stochastic processes (with an emphasis on macroeconomic applications). The research agenda should align with the chair’s focus on the interaction between fiscal policy, central banks, and financial markets.
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field.
You must hold a university degree in a relevant field, preferably in economics, applied mathematics, or a related discipline. You should demonstrate a strong research interest in dynamic macroeconomic theory, fiscal and monetary policy, heterogeneous agent models, financial markets, or stochastic processes. Proficiency in statistical or numerical software (MATLAB, R, or similar) is required. The ideal candidate should be capable of pursuing independent research and making a contribution to the academic profile of the chair.
