WU is currently inviting applications for the position of a part-time 20% full professor of Labour Economics at the Department of Economics. Duration of employment is 2 years. Candidates are expected to have established an international reputation as a researcher in their field.

The successful candidate is expected to have established an international reputation as a researcher in the relevant field and to have excellent qualifications. Candidates’ qualifications will be assessed in the context of their academic age on the basis of the following characteristics:

  1. A solid academic qualification (e.g. PhD, habilitation) in labour economics, in particular in its intersection with development economics and political economy, or a related area
  2. An outstanding international reputation for high-quality scholarship on labor economics commensurate with academic age, especially by having demonstrated the ability to publish in top-tier journals in the field. It is an advantage if aspects of development and/or political economy are also present in the research output
  3. Excellent teaching qualifications at undergraduate and graduate levels as well as in executive education
  4. Proven international experience
  5. A strong record in attracting research funding
  6. Leadership qualities
  7. Gender and diversity management skills.
