About the Role
The Graduate Education Programme (GEP) at the National Bank of Slovakia is a selective 12-month programme designed to develop the next generation of central banking professionals. It combines advanced academic training with hands-on experience through policy-relevant projects at NBS.
Participants gain academic preparation, professional mentorship, exposure to real central bank projects, and opportunities to connect with the European Central Bank network, providing a strong pathway to a career in central banking and finance.
What Youβll Do
β’ Complete a structured programme of four sequential training blocks, from foundational academic knowledge to applied policy work.
β’ Work on real policy projects within your assigned NBS department.
β’ Attend postgraduate-level modules led by international academics and senior practitioners.
β’ Develop quantitative, analytical, and professional skills to prepare for a career in central banking.
β’ Deliver a final project addressing a live central banking issue.

Qualifications
We welcome applications from candidates of all ages and academic backgrounds who demonstrate strong analytical skills and a passion for central banking. Successful applicants will have:
β’ A masterβs degree (or equivalent postgraduate qualification) in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Candidates in the final stages of completing their degree are also encouraged to apply. STEM degrees are fully considered, especially for those with strong quantitative skills.
β’ Proficiency in quantitative methods, statistics, econometrics, or mathematical modelling, as evidenced by academic transcripts.
β’ Excellent English proficiency (written and spoken).
